Produktbeschreibung
The current crisis in Eastern DRC requires an effective national and international political, economic, social and diplomatic commitment to be resolved permanently. The author believes that the solution to the crisis requires finding a way out of the identity issue, the disarmament of armed groups and the land conflicts. The problems of governance and the failure of security and peacekeeping institutions are not unrelated to the crisis in this region of the DRC: Furaha Umutoni, Alida. Several conferences on peace, summit and dialogue for the resolution of the crisis in eastern DRC have not resulted in restoring peace and security in eastern DRC. For peace to be restored in the east, the author recommends a more serious analysis of the various agreements signed, the commitment and implementation of these agreements, the application of transitional justice for all crimes committed and the negotiation of an amnesty for minor crimes committed by certain armed groups. Peace also requires effective, non-corrupt REDC institutions and the equitable distribution of resources to all communities in North Kivu.
