The purpose of carrying out this research is to emphasize the role of bowl-in-piston geometry on in-cylinder fluid flow, combustion analysis and pollutant formation process. The objective of the present research is to develop a in-cylinder multi-dimensional fluid flows which can predict in-cylinder fluid motion behavior by using different piston-bowl geometries.The combustion and emission related parameters that are going to be analyzed are:a) Different Piston bowl geometries b) Variable Injection timingc) Split injectiond) Mass-averaged Pressure and temperature variations inside the cylinder.e) NOx and soot distribution inside the cylinder.
