This study evaluates the fuel demand of hybrid vehicles in relation to conventional cabs, analyzes local regulations and automotive catalogs to determine consumption values, defines the accuracy of the measurements through physical validation methods to run consumption tests and determine drag coefficients using SAE J1321 and SAE J2264 standards, respectively. An electronic fuel measurement device connected to the ECU was used while the vehicle follows a driving cycle for cabs simulated on a dynamometer. Finally, consumption of the determined cases is compared, corroborating the existence of savings corresponding to 22% taking into account the current price of extra gasoline and the average daily trip made by a cab.
