Originariamente de Argentina, Cecilia se mudó a Brooklyn, Estados Unidos, donde vivió con su familia por muchos años. Durante la hora del cuento, su hija siempre hablaba de un amigo invisible llamado Zussassa. Así nació este cuento. Cecilia vive actualmente en el norte del estado de Nueva York con sus dos hijas, su esposo y su perrita. Realizan caminatas casi todas las semanas en el bosque, siempre atentos para ver si encuentran a Zussassa en lo profundo de la arboleda.
