Enrique Gómez Tible, llamado Enrique Gómez Carrillo (Ciudad de Guatemala, 27 de febrero de 1873-París, 29 de noviembre de 1927). Guatemala. En 1890 trabajó en el diario El Correo de la Tarde, dirigido por Rubén Darío, quien vivía en Guatemala. Y en 1891 recibió una beca para estudiar en España, recomendado por Darío. Al año siguiente publicó su primer libro en Madrid, Esquisses, una antología de semblanzas de escritores de la época, y escribió en Madrid cómico, La vida literaria, Blanco y negro, La ilustración española y americana y Revista crítica. En 1898 fue nombrado cónsul de Guatemala en París; años después, el presidente argentino Hipólito Yrigoyen lo nombró a su vez representante de Argentina en dicha ciudad. Desde 1895 fue miembro de la Real Academia Española. En 1917 conoció a la artista española Raquel Meller, con quien se casó en 1919 y se separó en 1922. Enrique Gómez Carrillo murió en París, el 27 de noviembre de 1927, y fue enterrado en el Cementerio de Père Lachaise. Junto a su esposa Consuelo, condesa de Saint-Exupéry tras su matrimonio con el piloto y escritor francés Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
