The purpose of this proposal is to suggest some competencies for the evaluation of the teacher's performance in front of the group of students, derived from the competency-based approach in education. These competencies are: planning the course of the subject, managing the progression of learning (class plan), carrying out interaction, using appropriate forms of communication to support academic work, and using appropriate ways to assess the teaching-learning process, all with the support of the various technological tools available. In order to achieve this purpose, the first section shows the three forms of teacher evaluation that are considered the most appropriate, i.e., student opinion, peer evaluation and self-evaluation; the second section describes the criteria for developing evaluation in the context posed by the new challenges for current educational systems within the framework of online and distance education.
