The issue of conflict and conflict resolution are seldom handled in literature on communities across border areas. This study aims at addressing this gap. It therefore, documents some aspect of conflict resolution among community across Ethio-Kenyan border. This book expresses the role of traditional conflict resolution in augmenting the government led efforts. After the incorporation of communities living in the study area (Borana, Gabra and Garri) to modern state structure, both the Ethiopian and Kenyan governments gave little attention to the traditional mechanism of resolving conflicts. So, this traditional mechanism has undergone significant changes and even weakened due to modern state formation. However, basic traditional mechanism system is still persisting. The traditional conflict resolution mechanisms are capable of considering the social roots of the disputants. The book constitutes a brief reference work for students and scholars of Peace building and conflict resolution in Africa.
