Endurance testing of back extensor muscles examines the localized capability of the extensor muscles of the back to sustain activity. 22 low levels of static endurance in the back extensor muscles are associated with higher rates of low back pain (LBP), decreased proprioceptive awareness, poor balance, and decreased productivity in the work place. So the purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between trunk muscle endurance and grade 1 obesity in college students with sedentary lifestyle. Subjects were taken according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and consent was taken. The subjects were explained about and asked to fill the international physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ). The trunk flexor and extensor endurance was assessed by KRAUS-WEBER and MODIFIED SORENSON tests respectively. The result of this study showed that there is no relationship between trunk muscle endurance and BMI. But while comparing trunk flexor and extensor endurance, significant difference was found between the two in grade 1 obese students. The study showed that the trunk flexors and extensors endurance were not related to grade 1 obesity.
