The Comics are a textual genre that attracts children to the universe of reading, given its playful and imagetic character. In this research it is presented as a general objective to reflect on the pedagogical potentialities of the Comics and their contributions in the school context, being used as a didactic resource in the classrooms with students of the Elementary School. Besides, it was extended the research for the field, making a research in loco in the Colégio Evangélico Leôncio José de Santana, where interviews with students and teachers were carried through as well as a didactic project was developed with the objective of observing directly the contributions of the Comics in the classroom. It was concluded that the theme, for being interesting and suggestive of improvements for the teaching of the Portuguese Language and of the other school contents, should still be approached in other academic works, in search of bigger contributions for the teaching and the learning ofthe contents of the diverse disciplines of the Basic Education.
