The results of in-depth investigation and research work on this problem along with scientific analysis and inference have been elaborated by the authors in this book. Leaf flushing in relation to N fertilizer application, soil and index tissue analysis for pre-bearing and post-flowering nutritional status and tree water status-current CO2 assimilation relations were found critical for flowering, fruit retention andsustainable yield of litchi. Technology for optimization of current CO2 assimilation-tree water relations and nutrition programme had been recommended in this book for sustainable litchi cultivation.

DR. SANJIT DEBNATH : Born on 15th August, 1978; acquired Ph. D. in 2005; served as an Officer in the Deptt. of F.P.I. & Horticulture, Govt. of W.B. from 2006 to 2008; joined as Assistant Professor in 2008 at BCKV (SAU), associated with research, teaching and extension works; AICRP on Fruits (ICAR) & RKVY project ¿R & D on Banana Fibre¿ as the PI.
