Under the individual and situational experiences, the participants described their experiences related to their general and university lives in United States. Under the coping strategies/suggestions theme, suggestions were provided to overcome challenges related to the transition. Under the personal transformation theme, students mentioned how their lives transformed as a result of their transition to the United States.

Dr. Prashanti Emani is an Adjunct faculty in Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Kentucky University-Owensboro. As a Gallup International Positive Psychology Fellow, Dr. Emani believes that promoting student adjustment in educational institutions eliminates challenges due to transition that in turn leads to positive and effective learning.
