Eine Feuersäule in der Wüste von Arizona. Die Welt steht in Flammen. Der Mann, den die Leute Solomon Creed nennen, weiß nicht, wie er hierhergekommen ist, weiß nur, dass er einen Mann suchen soll in der Stadt, die vom Feuer bedroht wird. Auf dem Hang vor der Stadt liegt der Friedhof, dort wird soeben ein Mann beerdigt. Auch hier hat man das Feuer gesehen. Ein Flugzeug ist abgestürzt. Gehört es zu Tios mächtigem Drogenkartell? Wie wird Tio reagieren?
Der Autor Simon Toyne lebt in Brighton, ein Brite schreibt einen Drogenthriller aus der amerikanischen Provinz um Korruption und Nachfolgekämpfe. Aber darunter taucht eine zweite mystische Geschichte aus anderen Kulturen und Zeiten auf. Redemption heißt die Stadt, in die Solomon Creed geht. Holly, die Frau des eben beerdigten Toten, tut sich mit ihm zusammen. Was er in dieser Stadt zu suchen haben mag, könnte er aus dem Buch „Reichtümer und Redemption“ erfahren, das er mit sich trägt. Ein Actionroman von biblischer Dimension: „... und es wird fast alles mit Blut gereinigt nach dem Gesetz, und ohne Blutvergießen geschieht keine Vergebung (Hebräer 9,22).“
