About the Author John O'Brien is married and lives in County Kildare, Ireland. He is a retired soldier, having served twenty-three years in the Irish Army. During his time in the Army, he served twice overseas in the Middle East, completing two tours of duty in Lebanon with the United Nations.

John O'Brien lived and worked for over thirty years in Pakistan, as a witness to the gospel. He is Associate Professor of Theology (Research) in Durham University.
