A pre experimental study was undertaken to assess the effect of structured teaching programme on disaster preparedness and mitigation in terms of knowledge among the nursing teachers in selected nursing institutions, West Bengal. The objectives of the study were to plan and validate the structured teaching programme on disaster preparedness and mitigation. To assess the knowledge of nursing teachers on disasters preparedness and mitigation before and after administration of structured teaching programme. To find out the effectiveness of structured teaching programme in terms of deference in knowledge score of before and after of teaching procedure. And to test the association between knowledge and selected demographic characteristics of nursing teachers. Purposive sampling technique was used to obtain the data.Pre and post test were used to collect data. The findings revealed that the mean post-test knowledge score (28.875) are higher than the mean pre-test knowledge score (12.925).
