The present volume presents the about 200 objects of the Etruscans and other Italic cultures in the Ruhr Museum and some objects of the Museum Folkwang at Essen in a complete manner. The objects basically consist of typical and simple objects of daily use such as pottery, fibulae, votive statuettes, spindle whorls, razors or bronze utensils, weapons, and jewellery.So far only the group of pottery objects? has been published. So far only the group of pottery objects? has been published. Now, within a seminar by the Archaeological Institute of the University of Cologne and the Ruhr Museum, the whole collection has been revised in cooperation with students of the University of Cologne.
The major part of the collection, formerly possessed by the Archaeologist Robert Forrer at Strasbourg, has been bought for the museum in the year 1913, kindly supported by Gustav von Bohlen and Halbach.
