Jeannie E. Roberts writes for children and adults alike. She is the author of Beyond Bulrush, a full-length poetry collection (Lit Fest Press, 2015), Nature of it All, a poetry chapbook (Finishing Line Press, 2013), and the author and illustrator of Let's Make Faces!, a children's book (2009). Her poems and photographs appear in print and in online literary journals and anthologies, including An Ariel Anthology: transformational poetry & art, Blue Heron Review, Festival of Language's Festival Writer, Misty Mountain Review, Nancy Drew Anthology ~ Writing & Art ~ Featuring Everybody's Favorite Female Sleuth (Silver Birch Press), Off the Coast, Portage Magazine, Presence, An International Journal of Spiritual Direction, Quill and Parchment, Silver Birch Press, Verse Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets' Wisconsin Poets' Calendar, Words & Other Wild Things, a children's anthology (Brick Street Poetry, Inc.), Yellow Chair Review and elsewhere. In 2007, her poem, "La Luz," won first place in the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra's statewide poetry contest. Musical composer Daniel Kellogg set her poem to music via an orchestral score with choir. In 2008, this new work was performed by the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra with the Dudley Birder Chorale. Her public readings include Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, Wisconsin Public Radio and other venues. She has exhibited her drawings and paintings in the Midwest and in Mexico City, and her artwork hangs in corporate and home settings. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and a Master of Arts degree in Arts and Cultural Management from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she has lived in western Wisconsin and in Mexico City, Mexico. She is a member of the Chippewa Valley Writers Guild and the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets.
