Apart from timber many plants are providing Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP'S) like gums, resins, dyes, house building materials, fodder, grasses, baskets, brooms, fish stupifying substances,water bottles etc. Ethnic and rural people oftenly use these NTFP's and also sold them in the nearby markets for their earnings.Many of these plants have unique features of usage in certain household industries like mats, baskets, ropes, handicrafts, storage containers, hand paintings, dye and coloring, local Ethnic paintings, homemade medicines and hand picked honey bottles. In addition to it, hand made ornamental articles are also made by them from natural materials of plants origin and sold them in nearby markets, seasonal fairs and exhibitions etc.The chief motive of this book under "Ethnobotany in the Welfare of Mankind" project, is to compile the findings of our research projects for the dissemination and documentation of this generations old traditional knowledge for the future reference.
