Human personality is the combination of many traits which enables one to succeed in his personal and professional life. There are personality hardy people who because of their coping tendencies termed as Personality Hardiness; instead of feeling depressed or stressed in a problematic situation, look for a solution. This hardiness is due to three components namely: Control, Commitment and Challenge. The present study was done with a purpose to investigate (i) the significance of difference in personality hardiness of senior secondary students in relation to gender (ii) the significance of difference in personality hardiness of senior secondary students in relation to locale. The Sample was restricted to 200 senior secondary students from rural and urban schools including both genders from Ludhiana district and Moga district of Punjab (India). Singh Psychological Hardiness Scale (SPHS) (2007) was used. Mean, Median, Standard deviation, Skewness and Kurtosis was used to study the nature of distribution of scores. No significant difference was found in personality hardiness of senior secondary school students in relation to gender and locale. (at 0.05 level of significance).
