VANET often suffers from security attacks because of its features like open medium, changing its topology dynamically, lack of central monitoring and management, cooperative algorithms and no clear defense mechanism. These factors have changed the scenario for the Vehicular Adhoc Networks against the security threats. VANET is not restricted up to Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication, it takes benefits of road side infrastructure that can also participate in communication between vehicles, but in this desertion the main focus is on Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication. There are various challenges for VANET such as high speed of vehicle, dynamic route finding, building, reflecting objects, roadside objects, other obstacles in path of radio communication, different direction of vehicles, concern about privacy, authorization of vehicle, security of data and sharing of multimedia services.
