Fresh water is a finite resource, essential for agriculture, industry, and even human existence, without fresh water of adequate quantity and quality, sustainable development will not be possible. Water the elixir is essential for the survival of all forms of life. Even though 80% of the earth's surface (80% of the total 50,000 million hectares in area) is covered by water, the freshwater supply has increasingly become a limiting factor, owing to the industrialization on one side and exploding population on the other. The sharp shortfall of monsoon rains, poor watershed management, and great use of water for domestic and agricultural purposes has led to the overexploitation of the surface water sources, especially from the good bodies. In present study was undertaken to investigate the impact of the surface water quality of well water, in five villages of Gir-Somnath District. In this research work, an attempt has been made to assess the physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters of surface water studied and submit data to the district water management.
