Ghana Canada partnership for Environmental Education (GCPFEE) was a five year project funded by the Association of Community Colleges of Canada (ACCC) through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) with the aim of reducing poverty in rural Ghana through environmental education and capacity building. One essence of this collaboration is to among other things, promote environmental awareness among the Ghanaian society in general and specifically Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. The project identified four poverty-related areas as priorities to be addressed i.e., wildfire, plastic waste, HIV/AIDS and ecotourism. Using Cluster, purposive and systematic sampling techniques the study measured the level of HOUSEHOLD ACCESS TO ENVIRONMENTAL AND HEALTH EDUCATION AMONG FOUR COMMUNITIES (Fiapre, Chiraa, Abesim and Sunyani Zongo) IN THE BRONG AHAFO REGION OF GHANA. It came out that the levels of knowledge about the four thematic areas have been recorded as low. This call for a review of the communication strategies to make the educational campaigns effective!!!!!!!
