How Do you Discover Your True Self? Is the prison we condemned ourselves to destined to determine our fate? Do our childhood fears and self-doubt manage to worm into us so deeply that we can never extricate ourselves from them, standing forever under the stern disapproval of our past? This book builds upon the foundation of these questions to construct a story-mosaic of one life - Paul's life - but it doesn't end there. Wishful thinking and insecurity never deliver the dreams we so badly yearned for as children. Only honesty, persistence, endurance, acceptance, hope and love can provide the spirits we thirst after. Paul writes with clever precision to uncover just how he found himself again. In reading this book, you too will readily see the ways you can realize your dreams.
Autorenporträt
An avid reader and composer of short stories, Paul lost himself in words and music while growing up, until he started to lose himself in bottles and shot glasses. As a professional chef, Paul worked long hours and found a home in the hospitality industry after-hours activities. He continued to write and start a family, until alcohol took over. After countless bottoms and a dismantling of his life at the hands of booze, Paul finally cried uncle at the age of 40 and promptly went into detox and treatment for his alcoholism. Since then, Paul has been very active in the recovery community. He also started a popular recovery blog, Message in a Bottle, and has written regular blog posts for Sanford House and several guest blogs. In addition to his writing, Paul designed a recovery podcast, Buzzkill Pod, in which he explores spirituality and recovery in all its various flavors. His Buzzkill Pod website was listed as one of the Top Ten Recovery Websites by The Fix magazine. When not writing or speaking about recovery, he can be found stepping on LEGO bricks, snacking between meals, or running. He currently lives in Toronto with his wife, two boys, and a dachshund.
