Das Lexikon erläutert auf aktuellem Stand alle wichtigen Fachausdrücke aus den Bereichen Buchkunde, Bibliothekswesen, Information und Dokumentation sowie aus dem Bereich der "Neuen Medien". Die erste Ausgabe wurde aktualisiert und um die zwischenzeitlich eingetretenen Entwicklungen insbesondere in den "Neuen Medien" erheblich erweitert. Dies betrifft vor allem die Bereiche Internet, automatische Verfahren der Indexierung, des Abstracting u. ä. sowie elektronische Entwicklungen im Bibliothekswesen, wie z. B.
