Alicia Giménez Bartlett (Almansa, Albacete, 1951) vivió y estudió en Valencia hasta que en 1975 se trasladó a Barcelona, ciudad en la que todavía reside. Ha publicado, entre otras, las novelas Exit, Vida sentimental de un camionero, Una habitación ajena (Premio Femenino Lumen 1997), Secreta Penélope, Donde nadie te encuentre (Premio Nadal de Novela 2011) y Hombres desnudos (Premio Planeta 2015). También ha cultivado el ensayo con obras como El misterio de los sexos y La deuda de Eva. Con Ritos de muerte inició la serie protagonizada por la inspectora Petra Delicado, a la que siguieron diez títulos más y cuyo éxito le ha valido premios como el Grinzane Cavour en Italia, el Raymond Chandler en Suiza y el Pepe Carvalho de Novela Negra en Barcelona.
