The experiment consist three levels of treatments viz, A. planting material (3): Sprouted seed (M1), Nursery seedling (M2) and Clonal tiller (M3); B. Variety (2): Inbreed variety (BR11, Mukta)-V1 and Hybrid variety (Sonar Bangla-1)-V2; C. Planting method (2): Broadcast (T1) and Line sowing (T2). A field experiment was carried out at Agronomy Field of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during June to November, 2005 to study the influence of planting technique on growth and yield of aman rice. The experiment consist three levels of treatments viz, A. planting material (3): Sprouted seed (M1), Nursery seedling (M2) and Clonal tiller (M3); B. Variety (2): Inbreed variety (BR11, Mukta)-V1 and Hybrid variety (Sonar Bangla-1)-V2; C. Planting method (2): Broadcast (T1) and Line sowing (T2). The experiment was laid out in a split- split-plot design with four replications. Experimental results showed that planting material had significant effect on all the agronomic parameters like plant height, number of tillers hill-1, Leaf area index (LAI), Total dry weight, flowering and maturity dates, filled grain panicle-1, 1000-grain weight, grain yield, straw yield and harvest index except effective tillers hill-1. The results revealed that clonal tiller (M3) showed the best performance than other planting material.
