Dr Pooja Mohanty did her PhD at Department of Psychiatric Social Work, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences,(NIMHANS) Bangalore. At the doctorate level she has developed a module for primary prevention of suicide among students at school level through dissemination of knowledge, transforming opinions and enhancing life skills.
