Mi sono laureata in Storia all'Università Federale Fluminense, ho conseguito un master all'Università Statale di Rio de Janeiro e un dottorato alla Fondazione Getúlio Vargas. Dal 2006 lavoro nella rete municipale di Duque de Caxias, insegnando presso la Scuola Municipale Professor Walter Russo de Souza.
