Autorenporträt
As a registered nurse with a master¿s degree in social work and a certification in health counseling from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Rosen offers readers a unique perspective on weight loss, improved health, stress reduction and overall well-being. She has spent her career focused on improving the wellness of both her clients and community, and she has learned a great deal during her forty years of nursing, twenty-three years of social work, and certification in health counseling. Nurses have long been a patient¿s best advocate. Rosen began her career as a scrub nurse, followed by nursing in medical intensive care, dialysis, school nursing and research. As the founding member of Gildäs Club Chicago and its first executive director and program director, she created and coordinated a diverse array of wellness-related programs. Rosen was appointed by Mayor Richard Daley to serve as Chair of Healthcare Initiatives for Chicagös Sister Cities International Program (CSCIP). CSCIP provided an opportunity to advocate for preventive medicine, improve maternal and infant healthcare, stress disability access, promote nourishing diets, and bring awareness to the obesity and diabetes epidemics that now affect populations on a global level. She served until her move to Los Angeles four years ago. Rosen is married and the mother of four adult children and grandmother to a precious granddaughter.
