The tropical montane evergreen forests of the Ethiopians ecosystem possess many endemic and endangered plant and animal species. The Ethiopian flora is very heterogeneous and has many endemic species. The country possesses about 6000 species of higher plants, of which about 10% are endemic. Gedo Forest is one of the 58 Regional Forest priority areas for conservation with high endemism but received little attention on conservation and sustainable management. The book covered floristic composition and structural analysis of Gedo Forest. A total of 235 species of plants (herbs, shrubs, lianas and trees) were recorded, of which 25 are endemic species and of the endemic species 1 is critically Endangered, 18 Least Concern, 4 Nearly Threatened, and 2 species Vulnerable. The structural analysis of the forest undertaken with various ecological methodologies and the regeneration status of the some trees is included. Forests play a crucial role in tempering the effects of climate and protect vital water catchments. Therefore, forest data and awareness creation is mandatory to save life in the forest.
