Oil pollution has been a reoccurring case since the discovery of oil in Nigeria. In severe cases, oil pollution cripples economic activities of some riverine communities where it happened.The major economic activities of most riverine communities in Nigeria is fishing and boating festival which attracts tourists to the communities hence boosting their economy. Oil pollution on their waterfront haults these activities thereby reducing the economy of these communities.This work therefore, adopted the Travel Cost Method (TCM) of valuation to estimate the economic loss of recreational boating in these communities arising from oil pollution.
