David L. Brown nació en Michigan. Él conoció a Cristo como Salvador cuando un maestro de la Escuela Dominical tiró, en la basura, un material de estudio liberal, y comenzó a enseñar el libro de Romanos. El maestro presentó el Evangelio en la clase. Él se casó con su esposa Linda hace 49 años. Ella fue una joven en la iglesia donde él era miembro.David estudió en Michigan University y luego comenzó a estudiar en el Seminario donde él completó los requisitos para recibir La Licenciatura en La Ciencia y Teología.
