Hypertension is an important public health challenge worldwide because of its high prevalence and concomitant increase in risk of disease. The present study was aimed to develop controlled release films of Propranolol hydrocholride. Due to effectiveness and intensive use of Propranolol HCl as a drug of choice in the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure, development of oral controlled release dosage form was selected for the study. Controlled release film of Propranolol Hydrochloride was prepared by using release retardant polymer. The objective behind this work was to design control release film by using solvent casting method, to study the stability of formulation and to study preformulation parameter of polymer. Based on the finding of the study, it can be concluded that formulated film could be a breakthrough in delivery drug(s) at controlled release manner.
