The purpose of this research is to recognize, by means of opinion polls, which were the elements that citizens considered most significant in the three debates for the Presidency of the Republic in Mexico, held in 2018. The study is divided into three sections: The first introductory one, which describes the multiple reforms to the Mexican political electoral system that allowed the appearance of political debates in the country, built through an extensive bibliographic search of the background of televised political debates; the second, addresses the televised political debates in Mexico, and the third, explains the state of the art of the object of study, complemented with the results of the opinion polls applied between April 24 and May 5, 2018. The results reflect the popularity among citizens of the different structural changes made to the televised debates of the year 2018, putting special interest in the aspects that allow the acquisition of a greater political culture among citizens, the above allows strengthening the democratic culture in Mexican society.
