The book comprises of two parts of which the first deals with the cestodes of fishes of the orders Pseudophyllidea, Proteocephalidea/ Tetraphyllidea and Lecanicephalidea. The second part consists of the cestode of birds of the orders Uavaineidea, Anoplocephalidea, Hymenolepididea and Dilepididea. The cestodes described in this book belong to nine families including 18 genera and twenty-five species in 25 chapters. One new species of Amoebotaenia, one new species of Cotyiorhipis as a first record from India, one new species of Lateriporus, two new species of Neoliga, one new species of Suresnla and one new species of Valipora as a first record from India are described from Dilepididae order.

Dr. Sandhya Kadam (b.1955) obtained her M.Sc. Ph.D. (Zoology) from Dr.B. Ambedkar Marathwada Univ. Aurangabad. Presently she is working as Associate Professor and Vice-Principal, Dnyanopasak College, Parbhani, Maharashtra, India. She has to her credit about 20 research papers published in Journals and in books of national and international repute.
