The present studyattempts to fill this gap in the migrationliterature by providing detailed descriptiveaccounts on primary school aged children'sexperience with parental and peer migration. Thecentral research questions that are addressed inthis book focus on the ideas of migration andchildren's sociality that circulate in children'simmediate surrounding; children's actual experienceof parental and peer migration; and thetransformations that family structures andrelationships undergo upon migration. A broaddescriptive approach and anthropological researchmethods are employed to access children's worlds athome and at school and to shed light on theirexperience of migration. This book is directed ateducators, international migration agencies,educational departments, migration and childhoodresearchers, and anyone interested in children'sexperience of parental and peer migration.

Dicketmüller Yvonne§Yvonne Dicketmüller was born in Aachen in 1982. She studied Anthropology of Childhood at Brunel University West London, where she received her MSc in 2007. Currently, she lives in Berlin, where she works in a research project focusing on the enhancement of language development and democratic educational style in day care centers.
