In these pages I have written about my earliest memories as a child: The homes I have lived in, the schools I have attended, summer fun, the jobs I have had, and on and on. In these pages I have written about my earliest memories as a child: The homes I have lived in, the schools I have attended, summer fun, the jobs I have had, and on and on. I also revisit my first year of college, getting married, being drafted and discharged from the Army after the end of the Korean War, and starting back to college. Scattered throughout these pages, in addition, are musings of mine about stuff. I am a lover of words. I enjoy giving voice to the past and making otherwise impossible imaginings appear real. I am a person who thinks the world is just interesting enough to try and figure it out. When I am writing there is excitement and surprise when I am finding and unpacking boxes of memories that have been sealed up and stored in my brain's attic or in the far corners of my mind. I enjoy putting my mind in rewind and running through the past barefoot -- and yes -- sometimes with blinders on, and that's O.K. I enjoy opening a bottle of the wine of my life and sharing in the ritual of remembering with any and all who wish to join me. In my writing I hope to take the reader along. As you read you will find that you have experienced many situations similar to mine. You need but change the locale and names of people, and they can be close to memories of your own. Whatever the result, please enjoy and let the reminders bring on thoughts and exchanges that will expand your past reflections to include all the fun and enjoyment we experienced separately as kids growing up in the towns that we called home. In my case, it was the little town of Colton, California, where there was no place that we kids should not have been. Enjoy!
