Climate change is one of the most critical global challenges of our times. It is a mega problem that exacerbates most other agricultural related challenges threatening human existence - soil erosion in many communities; flooding of farmlands; famine, agricultural drought among others. Climate change is one of the most critical global challenges of our times. It is a mega problem that exacerbates most other agricultural related challenges threatening human existence - soil erosion in many communities; flooding of farmlands; famine, agricultural drought among others. It is thus of paramount importance that measures are taken to mitigate the consequences of climate change by way of research and adaptation since most of agriculture is rain-fed. This Book examined the adaptation strategies to climate change among millet, sorghum and maize farmers in Sokoto State, Nigeria. Daily rainfall and temperature data for 30 years (1981-2010) were used. Onset, cessation, length of rainy season, number of rainy days, total annual rainfall, mean maximum and minimum temperature, (very crucial parameters to plant growth and development) were derived. The study concludes that the climatic characteristics of the study area affect grain production and that adaptation strategies havesignificant contribution on grain production in the study area.
