Noroviruses are currently the main cause of viral gastroenteritis. After an incubation period of 24 to 48 hours, symptoms such as vomiting and non-bloody diarrhoea occur. Infants and immunocompromised individuals are at increased risk of developing complications, so rapid diagnosis is crucial in order to initiate the correct treatment. This book examines the diagnostic value of commercially available rapid tests for the detection of noroviruses. Autor

Peter Holzer, born in 1980, lives in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in southern Austria. A trained biomedical analyst, he developed an interest in natural sciences at an early age and works in the laboratory diagnostics department at Klagenfurt Hospital.
