Produktbeschreibung
International conferences concerning the environment, such as that in Rio in 1992, have made good environmental policies. Unfortunately, such policies have not been implemented sufficiently. This situation reflects lack of interest on the part of developed countries as well as lack of tenacity on the part of developing countries. Therefore, such tenacity is necessary in order to solve the seemingly intractable problem of environmental pollution. The United Nations have established an Environmental Program (UNEP) to address environmental problems at a global level. Still, there is a lot to do. This book presents the status of the current global environmental crisis, its causes and effects, both to human beings and nature itself. It makes a call to environmental activists, scientists, students, lecturers, church leaders and policy makers to stop this crisis which might perdure for many years to come and get progressively worse if the world does not arrive at a solution soon.
