Autorenporträt
Jimmy Doherty was born in the beautiful English countryside and has been passionate about nature and farming for as long as he can remember. After leaving school, he became an entomologist at Molehall Wildlife Park, the Natural History Museum and Coventry University but in 2003, he decided to leave the study of insects behind him to set up a rare breed pig farm. His trials and tribulations were filmed by the BBC and he wrote his first book, On the Farm, to accompany the TV series of the same name. Jimmy has since presented a number of other BBC TV series including Jimmy Doherty's Farming Heroes, Jimmy's Food Factory, and Museum of Life. He still lives and works on the farm with his wife, 300 or so pigs, four cows, 15 sheep, two dogs, two cats and 100 chickens.
