A new approach to Down syndrome revealed 24 new discoveries. Three of them are about previously unnoticed structures in the construction of chromosome 21. They include: nucleosomes which contain magic numbers in their construction; solenoids that are built with Fibonacci numbers and spirals; and chromosomes that are comparable to the Tesla coil transformer in their physical construction and electric charge interaction. Three findings are regarding previously unknown purposes and events in the function of chromosome 21. They include: the abilities of chromosomes to use electric charge properties; explanation of the main reason for winding and packing of negatively charged DNA and positively charged histones into chromosomes; and the importance of heterochromatin, which was considered inert, useless genetic material in the construction of DNA. Twelve discoveries are about previously unknown mechanisms responsible for the development of non-disjunctions of chromosome 21 which are cause trisomy 21 and Down syndrome in 16 - 17 different variants. Six discoveries provided better understanding of Down syndrome with better risk estimation and more effective care, prevention, and control.
