About real-life Dominick and Charity: Charity was RVR's first rescue horse. When Dominick arrived several years later, Charity befriended him and they remained best buddies. They shared a stall and ate together. They could always be found near each other in the pasture. Volunteers at RVR walked the friends together, since they insisted on being with each other. Charity befriended other donkeys when they arrived at RVR, but Dominick remained her most special friend.
