Autorenporträt
Deon Meyer wurde 1958 in Südafrika geboren. Zunächst arbeitete er als Reporter in Bloemfontein. 1994 erschien sein erster Roman. Mittlerweile ist er der erfolgreichste Krimiautor Südafrikas. Zudem erhielt er den Deutschen Krimipreis. Deon Meyer schreibt auf Afrikaans, übersetzt werden in der Regel seine autorisierten englischen Übersetzungen. Er lebt mit seiner Frau und vier Kindern in Melkbosstrand.
