Genau sechs Vorträge von Otto Kernberg zeigen dann die große Spannweite seines Themas. Dabei besticht der Redner durch eine Vielzahl von Beispielen klinischer Fälle, zeigt davon ausgehend auf welchem Stand der Wissenschaft sich die psychatrische und psychologische Forschung heute befindet und Kernberg erspart es seinem Leser nicht, deutlich zu sagen was heute behandelbar ist und was nicht.
Der gebürtige Österreicher Kernberg besitzt die Gabe sich in knapper Form, aber dennoch umfassend zum Thema zu äußern. So auch in diesem Büchlein. Der Leser erfährt etwas von den Ursprüngen der Aggressionen bei Menschen mit schweren Persönlichkeitsstörungen und Kernberg ist Facharzt genug um nicht zu theorisierend zu werden. Sich an der Praxis orientierend verfolgt er einzelne Bereiche seines großen Themas konsequent bis zum Schluß weiter.
