Betrachtet werden die Jahre 1957 - 1963, 1975 - 1977, 1977 - 1985. Celia, die Hauptperson, ist enorm ehrgeizig und will nicht ewig Außendienst-Vertreterin in dem Unternehmen bleiben. Auch nach der Heirat und der Geburt der Kinder arbeitet sie weiter, obwohl sie inzwischen mit einem Internisten verheiratet ist. Der Rahmen für die Geschichte ist das Wachsen des Pharma-Konzerns, die Geschichte einiger Medikamente. Der Autor erzählt glaubhaft und spannend. Seine Zweifel lässt er Celia dadurch zum Ausdruck bringen, es gäbe eine weibliche Intuition. Nur leider fehlt es ihr dann an Konsequenz, um die Dinge zu richten. Am Ende bleibt also der Zweifel, ob es gut ausgehen wird... Der Autor hat die Geschichte vieler Medikamente gut recherchiert und in den Roman eingebaut. Dadurch entwickeln sich viele kleine Nebenereignisse, die einen auch motivieren, weiterzulesen. Ich fühlte mich gut unterhalten und verbleibe am Ende doch sehr, sehr nachdenklich. Sehr gut erzählt.
