Es ist wahrscheinlich eines von, wenn nicht Sandersons magischtes Werk, ein Märchen für Erwachsene. Mit seinem typischen Charme und Humor entführt Sanderson in diesem Einteiler in eine typisch einzigartige Welt, die ich nicht mehr verlassen wollte.

This book felt like taking a mini vacation into the world of Brandon Sanderson, as well as into the grand plots of fantasy and sci-fi novels in general. It was entertaining and funny, told a bit like a fairy tale but not quite, and I loved that. I especially loved that the woman in this story takes matters into her own hands and wants to save the men she loves. I enjoyed the little lessons sprinkled throughout, the philosophical life advice, and the idea that even someone as ordinary and “boring” as the main character can go out into the world and find her own adventure. Watching her overcome the fear that cripples so many of us was amazing and refreshing. Tress has no special powers. She is not the “chosen one,” a “hidden princess from a long-lost bloodline,” or someone with surprising magical abilities, just an ordinary girl in love who is stubbornly determined to reach her goal. I LOVED IT! Pick it up and read it, but read at least the Mistborn trilogy first. Otherwise, it will only be half as fun

5 stars. Best fantasy book of the year 2024. Loved the characters, the romance, the writing, the humour. Chef’s kiss I am not a Brandon Sanderson fan but this book worked and was just mesmerising

A sea of emerald spores where the smallest drop of water can yost you your life: this is what Tress has to cross to save her beloved Charlie from the evil Sorceress of the Midnight Sea (which just happens to be even more dangerous than the emerald Sea), even if she'd rather have stayed at home on her boring little island, cleaning windows and collecting cups. Fun, exciting and with a very unique and relatable protagonist!

I can't even describe how much I loved this book! Young and sheltered Tress sets out into the sea to save her "prince", the boy she loves. Epic adventures await with pirates, loveable characters and amazing worldbuilding. A magical fairytale where the maiden rescues the prince..
