A sea of emerald spores where the smallest drop of water can yost you your life: this is what Tress has to cross to save her beloved Charlie from the evil Sorceress of the Midnight Sea (which just happens to be even more dangerous than the emerald Sea), even if she'd rather have stayed at home on her boring little island, cleaning windows and collecting cups. Fun, exciting and with a very unique and relatable protagonist!

Not a classic Sanderson...

...but already my favorite of the year! The story brings with it tension, good characters with development, an interesting plot and one or the other little twist. But besides the Sanderson-typical things that we appreciate, there's a great deal of lightness - especially in the writing style and in the reader's experience of the characters and their stories. Otherwise, as always, it is refreshing to read a story in which the protagonist is not latently helpless and desperate, is waiting for her rescue or is by nature THE badass fighter!
