Bisher kannte ich diese englischsprachige Serie noch nicht, die in verschiedenen Büchern die Jugendzeit berühmter geschichtlicher Persönlichkeiten darstellt. Aus Neugier erwarb ich dann diesen Band, der die Kindheit und Jugend Geronimos, des berühmten Anführers der Apachen schildert. All das in Form einer netten Erzählung, genau richtig für Kinder ab etwa neun bis zehn Jahren. Und dabei, soweit ich das beurteilen kann, historisch fast immer korrekt. Geschildert wird das Heranwachsen des Jungen Goyahkla, aus dem in späteren Jahren dann der berühmte Geronimo werden soll, sein Zusammenleben mit seiner Familie, mit Freunden, seine Ausbildung zum Krieger, Jagdgebräuche der Apachen zur damaligen Zeit...kurz gesagt, alles, was ein Kind in Hinblick darauf interessieren wird. Wie gesagt...ein wirklich tolles, empfehlenswertes Buch. Meiner Meinung nach auch für deutsche Kinder gut lesbar, wenn man etwa zwei bis drei Jahre Schulenglich voraussetzt...nur Mut hierzu, es lohnt sich!
