University cultures which are the specific aspects of organizational culture within the context of higher education institutions have also attracted a plethora of scholarly studies because of their perceived influence on institutional activities, processes, and outcomes. Student retention on the other hand is critical to institutional and individual student success. For example, low retention of students affects the stability of universities, their budgets, and the public perception on their competence to provide quality education to students.
