In Africa, investors that have embarked on development projects without involving the intended beneficiaries, have always had socio-political problems. This book focuses on the moral dilemmas faced by investors in large-scale development projects, especially when investors work to please politicians at the expense of the local communities. The result is confusion, disorientation of local people and a frustrated workforce as is the case at the ARDA-Chisumbanje ethanol plant in south-eastern Zimbabwe.
